News from Pelita Nusantara, Sumba

Due to various circumstances, particularly the bad, rainy weather after February, thirty players are now showing up for the weekly training sessions. The three trainers all have their own cultural backgrounds, and it is quite a challenge for our head coach Febrian to forge a good team out of them. The teams are starting to play really well, which in turn motivates the trainers. As you know, we have to arrange matches ourselves, and in this video, you can see one of the first games.

Our head coach is currently living in a small room overflowing with equipment: cones, balls, vests, etc. The owner has complained about this multiple times. We are now looking for space that can serve as an office, living space, and storage. If you would like to help, please do: Project “Sumba 2026“.

Next year, we would like to start providing accessible education to the players; we are thinking of homework assistance.
